Haunted Echoes
Haunted Echoes by Lynn Kang
Games/Simulations/Performances
I wanted to make a simple adventure/mystery game. I focused on the storyline and player choices. I wanted to add a variety of elements to prevent the story from becoming too long, but I am not 100% satisfied with my work. Are there any devices that can make this game a little more dramatic?

I really enjoy how to create a mysterious atmosphere by adding effects to the text and pictures. The ending is open-ended, which makes it even creepier! If I could only open the chest after getting the key, that would be even better, so that I am forced to walk through the whole castle!
This game has an interesting and fun design, I like the effects you put on the words. It is a little confusing for me to figure out if I have the key or not, it might need a more direct way to tell the play about this information. Ahout the story, I would say that a longer story can be more engaing and can hold more details, for me, the story now feels a little rushed, I do want to spend more time playing this game and really emerge myself into the story. If you don't want the story to be long, that's fine! Maybe you can add more passage to let the player explore even though they couldn't find anything, it might add more suspantion to the game. All in all, a good and fun game!
I enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the game, I think you really put a lot of design choices into the gameplay. Accompanied by the gloomy images, it creates a sense of tension. I really enjoyed this game. I do think more linked option could be handful when it comes to collecting items or unlocking certain pathways based on the player's choices. Over all, a great game! :)
The images definitely add the vibe into the adventure. The storyline is liner which I enjoy a lot. Another thing about this game is you are allow to go back to another option before you end up making the final decision. Interesting movement in between the text, also adds the vibe. I wish I could know more about this family before they died.
I really like the mood setup for the game. I think it is amazing to have the words in animated movements that corresponds to the actions. Such as you have "push" sliding and "flashlight" flashing. I think those designs made the narrative more engaging and interactive. I think some of the choices can be more linked. Such as how the photos link to the final mistery.
